You have to view these pages with at least 800*600 resulotion and 16 bit colors. I do not care how this page looks with less/high resulotion and number of colors.
I know I can make better pages than this one.. But.. well.. Just no time! Take this as an "informative" homepage..- COMING SOON -
..More photos of me and my very private links..
So, this is how I look. Well, that WAS how I looked about a year ago actually. I am 26 years old (30/May/1971), 1.80 in height, 67.5 kg, have brown hair and brown eyes. (I felt like giving out my stats on an IRC session..) I was born in Ankara, capital of Turkiye. I had a very happy childhood, so I do not think that I have mental problems or so. I never thought that we would have cyberspace, and that I would have a page in it. I didn't know what "cyber" meant anyway. Time seems to be the greatest teacher.
I am a person who can not live his emotions on the extreme side. What I mean is that, I can not get very angry, I can not get very happy, I can not cry with tears bursting from my eyes, and I can not laugh with big laughters and so on.. I have very "ordinary" emotions. I am really afraid of living my life so ordinary. I always feel the panic to live it to te fullest. I am aware of this and I am always trying to do different things, like having my hair coloured. (this is not a common thing, if you are in Turkiye.) I just do not want to get older with an ordinary life. 10 or 20 years later, when I sit down and lay back on my armchair, I have to have a lot to remember about the things I lived in my life. That's why, I am trying to "try everything". I do not care what people think about me, as long as they do not give any kind of harm. I am quite happy about the way I live my life, but I am sure there are a lot to live and taste in the rest of my life..
I had my education in TED Ankara Collage, (that is one of the best schools of Turkiye. You have all your lessons in English.. Guess why I am so good at it. :) ) and I was such a successful student, that I did not pay a single penny to my school until the year I met computers. Ever since I am a bad student, I never had success in University or so. But that is better coz then you have success in love.. (or was that another thing? Anyway.. Does it really matter?)
I had my first try at the universities with Hacettepe Statistics department, but I had a teacher who never could marry in her entire life, and that must have been the reason that she was quite agrassive. I could not pass from her lesson for 3 years, and I decided that I should not fight this stupidity. I left the school to attend another one, called "Acikogretim", which is a university that anybody who knows "2+2=4" can join. Well, I do not care infact coz I have no intentions to graduate, and have a successful life. I enjoy myself and I am quite happy about it. I left that school also on September '96, and now I have to wait until 1999, that's when I am going to have my military service..
I'm working for a research company called Plus REMARK. I have been working there since the first month of 1997. I worked for lots of TV stations before, and that was the reason infact why I left my home-city (Ankara) and moved to Istanbul. After working for ATV, Kanal D, Kanal 6 (these are the major TV stations in Turkiye) and a music television called "Number One Mtv" (Mtv-Turkiye), I stopped with this TV business and now I am working as a Webmaster for the research company. (you can also visit the Plus Remark Homepage to take a look at the work I have done there..) I am also working as a freelance Webmaster, too. I have also done the www pages of Number One FM and Number One TV. The Number One TV pages are old and they are ugly. They were the first pages I made, and I was not even on the internet then.
A very recent happening, which drove me violently happy, was that, I won an award for the work I did at Number One FM's homepage. The award was given by a foreign site called Turkish Radios Online. The awards were given in 3 categories, and Number One Fm site was nominated for 2 of them. Best design & Best content. There are about 60 radio-homepages in Turkiye, and Number One FM made it to top 5 in 2 categories. After 6 months of collecting votes from visitors of their site (more than 3000 of them), on the 1st of November 1997, the results are announced, and Number One FM has been awarded for the graphics and the overall design for the year of 1997. This is a real pride for me, as I have done everything myself, the graphics, design and all the html stuff. So now, I am a happy awarded webmaster. :) We couldn't get the best content award, because I had a quarrel with Number One Fm, and they stopped paying me, so I didn't update the pages since June'97.
By the way, I am also working as a freelance webmaster, so if any of you needs a site for your company (serious offers only, please) I can handle it. I'm an easy-going fella, so the money will not be that much problem.
Why a picture of Madonna here? Well, coz I admire her. She is doing everything that she wants to do, and she doesn't care about what people say. I am sure she is living every single second of her life to the fullest. Besides her personality and courage, she is a good singer and a dancer. If you have seen any of her world-tours, you can well understand what I mean. I was one of the very lucky guys in Turkiye, who watched her "Girlie Show" world tour, and that was certainly one of the best experiences of my whole life.. I thought she was going downhill sometime before, coz all she did was something about sex. I started thinking that she was using "sex" to stay popular and this was too "cheap". But after listening to her "Bedtime Stories" album, I once again admitted that she is damn good. It is so obvious that she is doing everything better in time. When she finally worked with Massive Attack to produce "I want you", I was totally sure about what she was made of..
There are not so many things that I am so much effected by. As I wrote before, I am not a person who can live his feelings on the extreme side. I "like" many things, but I do not "love" so much. But there is a big exception, and this exception is a movie. The great film, Bram Stoker's Dracula is surely the BEST movie I have ever seen. The costumes, decoration, make-up, story, everything.. I must have watched this movie about 50 times or so. I can remember how much I was excited when I saw a t-shirt of this movie in a film-store. The store was closed then, and I could hardly wait for the next day to buy it.. It is awesome!
Another movie I should not forget is the legendary Star Wars series. Everybody knows what they are all about, so I will not write much about it.. But I am waiting for the next serie to appear in '98. I can imagine how brilliant it is going to be. By the way, I was also waiting for Independence Day like this, and the thing I saw was terribble! The effects were great, but the story was a complete trash. I can not understand how some people can compare Star Wars and Independence Day.. They must have lost their minds! By the way, Mars Attacks was soo great!!
I am mostly into Dance Music. I love going out to clubs and dancing till the first rays of sun. My favourite clubs in the city are 2019 Maslak, 20, 14 and Taxims Night Park. I am dreaming of the day that I will go to London to dance at Ministry of Sound, and especially Liverpool to dance at Cream. My favourite Dj, named Paul Oakenfold plays at Cream nearly every weekend. But I have to have a few friends with me, and unlimited alcohol! :) Paul Oakenfold is the resident Dj of the famous club CREAM, and he also runs his own record label called Perfecto. They remix songs as well as they also produce their own stuff, like Grace and BT. My favourite Dj's are Paul Oakenfold, Armand Van Helden, Pete Tong, Junior Vasquez, Sasha, Rollo & Sister Bliss. The World-famous Dj's I have danced to the live music while they played live were: Derrick May, Frankie Knuckles, Tonny De Vitt, George Morell, Cj Mackintosh and Sash. Derrick May was the best among them. Too bad that I missed the chance to see Rollo & Sister Bliss (AKA Faithless) playing live, coz I was at holiday that weekend, and I was not in Istanbul.
The singers and groups that I like listening to are.. (in exactly rememberence order..) MADONNA!, Massive Attack, Portishead, Tricky, Daft Punk, Underworld, George Michael, Bjork, Everything But The Girl, Tori Amos, Lisa Stansfield, Brand New Heavies, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Jamiroquai, The Beloved, Grace, BT(infact mostly anything about Perfecto & Paul Oakenfold) and probably a lot more I can not remember right now...
When it comes to radio stations, my favourites should be Number One Fm ( I did the homepage.. and this site has won an award, you can find about this award in this page, somewhere else) and Radio 2019. Number One Fm is good, because they bring you all the hit music you're looking for. .But if you want to listen to some real good music, you have to adjust your radios to 96.2 (istanbul): Radio 2019 .. Radio 2019 is the first and the only dance station in Turkiye. They play R'n'B and dance during daytime, and some real DANCE stuff at nights. They have a program called Dance Department (at wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights), where they play great club music. This radio takes me to the places where I have never been before.. :)
Let me tell you about my favorite songs.. I will update this part frequently, so you can understand my musical-taste exactly.. I guess I am really into dance music :
August: Flylife [Basement Jaxx] - Somethings going on [Todd Terry] - Free [Ultra Nate]
October: I thought it was you [Sex-O-Sonique] - Until the day [The Knowledge] - I need a miracle [Coco]
CLIQUE should be the magic word when I start talking about computers. Clique is the name of the computer group that I am a member of. The group if 6 years old now, and we are very close friends with the members. I owe most of the things I know about computers to my friends in Clique, and I know that, whatever I do in my life, I always will stay as a part of this great friendship-group.. We have finally finished working on our Cyberspace Whq, so do not forget to pay a visit to our Clique homepage. (I should thank Kris/CLQ for the fab work he did for the pages..)
I started messing with computers at the age of 18 or so, and started out with a Commodore 64. I used this computer for about 4-5 years. Clique has produced lots of stuff for this magic computer, and we became one of the most admired groups of all times on the C64 scene. I used to edit a magazine called Script, and this diskmag has made it into the charts and stayed at #1 spot for about 1.5 years in the whole world magazine charts, until I stopped with it. You can find the issues of Script at Clique Cyber Headquarters, if you are willing to read them. (You have to have a C64 emulator, which supports fast/IRQ loaders, like C64sv2.0a +). Now I am thinking of releasing Script as a net magazine, but I know that it is going to take some time, so I have to wait until I have the time to do it. You can read about all of our activities in the computer scene at Clique's official www page. I also edited in real magazines, like Commodore Dergisi and Amiga Dergisi. I was famous for the pages where I answered letters and questions from readers. Those days were much fun! My job in Clique was swapping and editing Script. I used to swap with about 200 guys. I also made it to swapper charts many many times. Well, it seems I had a plenty of time in the past! (and also a strong hand to write all those stuff!) 8)
Then came the time to change my computer. The technology never stops you know.. Being a C64 user, I changed my computer to Amiga. In scene life, I joined the world-famous Crystal first and after 3 months, I joined Classic.. Thes two groups were the most infamous cracker groups in th Amiga scene at that time. I was no cracker, I was just trading for them. In real life, I started producing more professional stuff. I started drawing graphics on this multimedia computer. And then I happened to start making money. I worked for major Tv channels in Turkiye like Atv, Kanal 6, Kanal D and finally Number One Tv.
Finally I upgraded to a PC. I own a Pentium based computer now. I prefer a PC because I have more access to Pc programs. I can find every kind of programs for this computer. You can configure this computer just like you want, and the hardware is much cheaper when compared to Amiga. Being a graphician, the graphic programs are very important for me, and the PC supplies me with nearly whatever I want.
I have no other plans for computers, I will use them for making money and having some fun for the rest of my life. I have the idea of releasing Script on the internet, but I don't know if I will have enough time for that. (and I must have the willing, too..) But even if I release nothing, I surely will improve this (informative) homepage.
So, these are the things which come to my mind right now. I really wanted a home page so bad, and I did not work on this page a lot to finish it as fast as possible. I have some more ideas about how to make this page better, but I don't know if I will have the time to do it. :)
It would be great to have a mail dropped in my box.
Or why not sign my Guest Book? C'mon! Let me see who is around!
BTW, all the graphics in this page are made by me.. Nothing special anyway..
Greetings to whole CLIQUE and my swap-partners from the golden C64-era and all I know from the scene and all those friends of mine..
Sevgiler,
